Board of Incorporators (BoI)

The December 2004 12-year contract between Baltimore City and Comcast specifies that the mayor appoint a "Board of Incorporators" to help the city setup a tax-exempt corporation that will then run public access TV independently from the city. The city hired consultant Bunnie Riedel of Riedel Communications to lead the process. The 13 appointed members of the Board of Incorporators were:

CMBC Board Nominations
The initial deadline for turning in nominations for the board of Community Media of Baltimore City was Wednesday, May 31, 2006. There were 41 nominations received for a total of 13 board positions.

As of Oct. 10, 2006 it appears that the Board of Incorporators is likely to reopen the nomination process for three to five CMBC board members as the nominating committee has only agreed upon eight to ten of the earlier nominees. A new nomination form has been created that may or may not be official, and it lists a new deadline of Oct. 27, 2006. If reopening the nomination process has to be approved at the next BoI meeting, on October 25, that would leave only two days or less from public announcement to the deadline. The form is: Board Nominating Form B.doc

At the Oct. 25, 2006 BoI meeting at Sojourner-Douglas College, it was decided that nominations would be reopened for CMBC board members with a new deadline of Nov. 15, 2006.

On Dec. 14, 2006 the Board of Incorporators met for the last time and finalized their selection of CMBC board members.

The first meeting of the initial 13-member CMBC board was Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007 at 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Sojourner-Douglass College.
